3.18. Use of the automatic transmission

"Р" — the parking. For transfer of the lever of the selector to this situation it is necessary to press the button of blocking of the lever. Situation is intended for the parking of the car or launch of the engine.

PREVENTION
To install the lever in situation "P" it is allowed only at the motionless car.

At the parking on a slope at first install the parking brake, and then transfer the lever to situation "P".
"R" — a backing. For transfer of the lever of the selector to this situation it is necessary to press the button of blocking of the lever. The backing is allowed to be included only after a full stop of the car during the operation of the engine idling.
"N" — a neutral. In this situation it is possible to launch the engine. If the engine decayed during the movement, it is necessary to put the selector lever in position "N" and to launch the engine a starter.
"D" — automatic inclusion of transfers of the forward course. Depending on loading of the engine, speed of the movement and the transfer chosen raising or lowering transfers of the forward course automatically join.
"2" — automatic inclusion of I and II transfers. It is recommended to install the lever in this situation at the movement in mountain conditions when it is required to provide a considerable stock of engine capacity and effective braking with the engine. It is not allowed to transfer the selector lever to situation "2" at a speed over 95 km/h. If the lever is installed in situation "2", then it is necessary to observe restriction of speed to 95 km/h;
"1" — automatic inclusion of the I transfer. For transfer of the lever of the selector to this situation press blocking of the lever the button.
The lever of the selector is recommended to be installed in this situation on steep slopes and descents, and also in traffic conditions on deep snow, sand or dirt. It is not allowed to transfer the selector lever to situation "1" at a speed over 50 km/h. If the lever is installed in situation "1", then it is necessary to observe restriction of speed to 50 km/h.
