3.18.3. The movement of the car with the automatic transmission

The operations procedure at a start of motion has to be following:

— install the selector lever in situation "N";

— press a brake pedal;

— launch the engine a starter, without releasing a brake pedal;

— without increasing rotation frequency idling of the engine, move the selector lever to one of provisions of the movement ("D", "R", "2" or "1");

— release a pedal of a brake and begin the movement.

PREVENTIONS 1. Do not raise engine turns idling. It can lead to a sudden start of motion of the car if the lever of the selector is installed in provisions "D", "R", "2" or "1", or to breakage of the engine if it is in situation "N" or "P". 2. On the models equipped with the button of blocking of the lever of the selector for transition from situation "P" to any transfer of the movement it is necessary to press a brake pedal. The mechanism of blocking works only when the ignition key or the switch of devices and a starter is in the provision of "ON". 3. Observe the increased care at gear shifting (both forward, and a backing) until the engine does not get warm as idling turns at the cold engine are higher, than at heated-up. 4. At the parking, even for a short time, transfer the selector lever to situation "N" and put the car on the parking brake. In case of a car stop on rise it is necessary to press a brake pedal, previously having switched the selector to situation "N" to hold the car on the place and to protect transmission from an overheat.
