4.2.2. Assembly of the engine

You carry out assembly of the engine taking into account indications of subsection. "The general requirements to car repairs" in the following order.

Fig. 2.2. Marking and order of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of covers of radical bearings of a bent shaft

Install the pure block of cylinders on the stand. Wipe with bed fabric under inserts in the block and in covers of radical bearings. Establish in a bed of the block of cylinders inserts with lubricant flutes, previously having wiped them and having oiled engine. Establish persistent half rings on an average support of the block of cylinders so that their lubricant flutes were turned to a bent shaft. Wipe with fabric radical and conrod necks of a bent shaft, oil them engine and install a shaft in the block of cylinders. Insert inserts into covers of radical bearings, oil them engine and establish on the corresponding necks of a bent shaft so that fillets of the top and lower inserts were against each other. Wrap bolts of fastening of covers (fig. 2.2) and tighten them the determined moment. Turn a bent shaft to be convinced of its free rotation at small effort. Check an axial gap of a bent shaft (see. "A bent shaft and flywheel").

Fig. 2.3. Assembly of conrod and piston group: 1 — number of dimensional group of diameter of the piston;
2 — a tag on the piston bottom which has to be directed towards the drive of camshafts; 3 — an insert with an opening for lubricant; 4 — a rod cover insert; 5 — number for completing of a rod with a rod cover

Rods and pistons before assembly need to be oriented so that at installation the tag on the bottom of the piston was sent to the block of cylinders towards the drive of the camshaft (fig. 2.3), and tags on a rod and a cover of a rod settled down against each other and were directed towards an oil filter. The opening for lubricant in a rod is guided towards a starter.
Pick up fingers to rods, considering that the gap in interface a finger — the plug of the top head of a rod has to make 0,05 — 0,17 mm for new details.
Heat pistons in an oil bathtub to temperature of 60 — 70 °C, install the piston on a prism and a mandrel press a piston finger in the piston and the top head of a rod. In grooves of lugs of the piston establish new lock rings.

Fig. 2.4. Installation of piston rings: I \order of installation of piston rings; II \arrangement of locks of piston rings; 1 — the tag on the piston directed towards the drive of camshafts; 2 — a joint of a dilator of an oil scraper ring; 3 — the lock of the top compression and top oil scraper ring; 4 — the lock of an oil scraper ring; 5 — the lock of the lower compression ring

Pick up piston rings for cylinders (see. "Conrod and piston group"). The thermal gap is measured in locks of the rings placed in the cylinder on depth of 15 mm from the top end face of the block of cylinders. Check the probe a side gap between rings and a wall of a piston flute. Oil engine rings and flutes of pistons. By means of adaptation put on the ring piston a tag of "N" up (to the piston bottom). Part joints of rings as it is specified fig. 2.4.
Wipe beds of rods and their cover. Wipe and insert into covers inserts according to the tags put when dismantling (if the working inserts are used). Put on safety plastic tips which at the same time prevent drop-out of the top insert new conrod bolts. Oil engine the piston and the cylinder. Squeeze piston rings adaptation or, using a conical mandrel, insert the piston into the cylinder, at the same time consider requirements to an arrangement of the piston and a rod concerning the block of cylinders.
Remove safety tips from conrod bolts. Oil engine inserts of a rod and a neck of a bent shaft. Establish a rod and a cover on a neck of a bent shaft, at the same time tags on a cover and a rod have to be directed towards an oil filter.
Establish the holder of a back cuff of a bent shaft with new laying, previously having pressed in it a mandrel a new cuff. Establish a flywheel, having applied sealant clamp of a carving on a carving of bolts and having wrapped them the determined moment.
You perform further operations as it should be, the return to dismantling, taking into account the following.
Observe the determined moments of an inhaling of threaded connections.
Center the conducted clutch plate as it is specified in subsection. "Coupling".
Establish a new oil filter.
