5.4.3. Removal and installation of the water pump

Establish a forward part of the car on a support. Remove the right wheel and the right antisplash guard. Merge liquid from the cooling system. Turn off bolts of fastening of a pulley of the water pump. Take off a gas distribution mechanism drive belt, a tension roller and a pulley of the water pump. Remove the water pump, having turned off bolts of its fastening. Carefully clear the privalochny surface of the water pump by means of chemical solvent.

The water pump is not subject to repair. The faulty pump is replaced assembled. Before installation be convinced that the shaft of the pump has no side play and that bearings do not make extraneous noise. Apply a sealant layer like Loctite on the basic surface of the pump. Install the pump on the engine and tighten the set moment fastening bolts. Establish the removed details in the sequence, the return to removal. Otregulirute belt tension. Check a gas distribution mechanism belt tension. Fill the cooling system and remove from it air. Launch the engine and be convinced of lack of a leak of cooling liquid.
