5.4.2. Removal and installation of a belt of the drive of the water pump

Establish a forward part of the car on a support, remove on the right side a wheel, an antisplash mudguard and the right guard of a case of the engine. Weaken the top bolt of fastening of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering. Then, unscrewing the adjusting screw, weaken a tension of a driving belt (fig. 3.23). Take off a belt of the drive of the water pump.

Before installation of a belt check a condition of each pulley. Establish a belt as it is specified fig. 3.24, paying attention to laying it in streams of all pulleys. Adjust the screw a tension of a driving belt so that the deflection when pressing the middle of a branch between pulleys of the water pump and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering by effort of 98 N made for a new belt 3 —
4 mm, for the earned extra belt of 5 — 7 mm.
Tighten the top bolt of fastening of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering. Execute the remained operations as it should be, the return to removal.
