10.5.3. Adjustment of light of headlights

Install the car in the equipped state on the flat horizontal platform. Check and bring to norm pressure in tires.

Install the car in front of the special screen (fig. 8.12) so that its axis of symmetry coincided with the OOA plane. Correctness of adjustment of headlights depends on the accuracy of installation of the car.

Two vertical lines VV which are from the OO line at the distance equal to a half of distance between axes of headlights are applied on the screen.

The horizontal RR line is drawn at height equal to distance of N — height of the centers of headlights. Below the RR line the horizontal lines passing to the right of the V—V lines into inclined lines, a tilt angle 15 ° are applied on size K on the left side from the RR line. Thus broken lines C — the Village are formed. Size K is equal to the standard shift of horizontal light-and-shade border of a bunch of passing beam. At adjustment and check of luminous intensity of one headlight close another the opaque gate. You make adjustment, combining light-and-shade border of passing beam with the respective broken line C — the Village.

Adjustment of provision of headlights is made by screws 1 and 2 (fig. 8.13).
