10.1. Rechargeable battery

The battery is installed in a motor compartment on an arm on the left side.

Positive conclusion of the battery is connected to a starter and through a distributive box with other consumers, a negative conclusion is connected to "mass" of a body and the engine. The distributive box is located in a motor compartment near the rechargeable battery. Care of unattended rechargeable batteries consists in periodic cleaning of dust and dirt. It is also necessary to check reliability of fastening of the battery and connection of tips of wires with battery conclusions. Smooth out the oxidized tips of wires and conclusions. At the same time remove the minimum layer of metal, otherwise it will be impossible to connect tips of wires to battery conclusions reliably. It is necessary to watch also that wires were not tense as it can lead to breakage of conclusions or covers of the battery. Tips of wires and conclusions are recommended to be greased with technical vaseline.

The failures of the rechargeable battery connected with its category are in use possible. Can be the reasons: slipping of a belt of the drive of the generator, malfunction of the generator, connection of additional (freelance) consumers over admissible limits, the raised self-discharge because of strong pollution of a surface.

The simplest way of definition of a razryazhennost of the battery is inclusion of a sound signal. In case of the discharged battery or bad contact on its conclusions it sounds hoarsely.

Before carrying out any works on service and repair of electric equipment surely disconnect a wire from a negative conclusion of the rechargeable battery.
