8.2.4. Check of axial movement of the mechanism

Install the car on the flat horizontal platform. Establish wheels in the situation corresponding to the rectilinear movement. Install the indicator, his leg has to rest against an end face of a case of the steering mechanism, settling down parallel to an axis of a steering shaft. Move with effort about 50 N at the idle engine a steering wheel in the axial direction and note indications of the indicator. If axial movement of the steering mechanism exceeds 2 mm, tighten bolts of support of fastening of a case of the steering mechanism. If after that axial movement does not become normal, replace support.
