3.5.14. The switch of ignition or the switch of devices and a starter (on cars with the diesel engine)

Fig. 1.19. The switch of ignition or the switch of devices and a starter (on cars with the diesel engine)

The switch of ignition and key are components of anticreeping blocking of the steering mechanism.
The key has the following provisions:
"LOCK" — situation at the parking of the car. The key can be taken from the lock only in this situation.
At the taken-out key the steering mechanism is blocked for what it is necessary to shake slightly a steering wheel before the click designating to the right and to the left that the locking device worked.
It is forbidden to take out a key during the movement. It will lead to blocking of a wheel that can cause loss of management and, as a result, serious accident.
For an unblocking of the steering mechanism insert a key into the lock and turn it to the right, at the same time rotating a steering wheel in the parties;
"ASS" — in this situation moves power supply for auxiliary devices, for example the autoradio tape recorder when the engine does not work;
"ON" — working situation: ignition (for petrol engines) or devices and prestarting heating is included (for diesel engines);
"START" — at turn of a key in this situation begins to work a starter.
For an engine stop the key should be established in the provision of "ASS".
On cars with petrol engines the ignition key of the NATS V2.0 system is used. In attempt to start the engine without the aid of this key the anti-theft device which "suppresses" the engine works.
